The Liberty L-12 was an American 27 liter (1,649 cubic inch engine of 400 hp designed for a high power-to-weight ratio and ease of mass production. The engine went in to production in 1917 by Lincoln, Ford, Packard, Marmon, and Buick. It was designed by Jesse G. Vincent and Elbert J. Hall. It was succeeded by the Packard LA-2500.
